Dyson Wicker, a Nebraska-bound at Rockwall Heath High in Texas representing Texas Express, cleared a lifetime-best 17-6 (5.33m) to tie for the top spot and place second on overall attempts at the New Mexico Lobo High School Classic presented by Garmin at Albuquerque Convention Center. Harland became one of 22 prep vaulters in history to clear at least 17-6. The competition was the first since the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit in 2018 in Reno, Nev., to produce three prep athletes with 17-foot clearances.
